Genova 2029: the hills, the children, the emotion
A vision for the city
Design by Jacopo Ascari

Competition organized by the Order of Architects, Landscape Architects and Conservators of Genoa, ninth place
Genoa 2029 is a city capable of being reborn, on the rubble of the Morandi Bridge, thanks to an action of “urban orogenesis” that leads to the raising of two “Mediterranean hills”, an example of a city in layers. These can accommodate all kinds of urban functions, masked, however, by a lush garden on multiple levels. On the top of both hills, there are two Belvedere in perennial memory of the Fallen and from which to enjoy a particular view of the city and the Gulf.
The Polcevera Valley project is only the most ambitious project of strategic redefinition of the direction that Genoa wants to undertake: a younger city, the capital of the Mediterranean that regenerates and renews itself.
